The Supreme Court has delivered its verdict on the IPL betting scam, on the basis of the Justice Mudgal committee report that investigated into allegations of betting.
On N Srinivasan, the court said that there was not enough proof of any kind on part of the BCCI chief. It said that there was only a case of suspicion on him.

The apex court has said that Gurunath Meiyappan, son-in-law of N Srinivasan was involved in betting. The court has also maintained that Meiyappan was a team member of Chennai Super Kings, though BCCI chief N Srinivasan and CSK had claimed that Meiyappan was just an enthusiast.
Making the BCCI accountable, the Supreme Court says that the cricket body's functions are public functions and so they are amenable for judicial review under Article 226 of the constitution.
The Supreme Court also said that the Mudgal committe had proved all charges against Raj Kundra, the Rajasthan Royals co-owner.
The apex court has set up a three judge committee to decide on the quantum of punishment to be given to Raj Kundra, Gurunath Mayyappan,
Saying that the BCCI cannot be allowed to decide the fate of franchises, Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings, it said that an independent committee would be formed to make a final decision.
It has ruled that N Srinivasan cannot contest the next BCCI elections and asked the BCCI to hold new elections within six weeks.
