Just a day after Dr APJ Abdul Kalam's office issued a statement saying Srijan Pal Singh, who was Kalam's aide, should not give statements to the media in the name of the former President, the latter said that he has deactivated all the "memorial" social media accounts. The Facebook page will however take 14 days to be deactivated. In a Facebook post on Thursday, Singh wrote on his page that Dr Kalam trusted him with running his social media accounts, and "it was a rare honor to initiate design develop and maintain these accounts for him." He however added that he was still grieving over Dr Kalam's death and is not in a position to debate. He wrote, "I hope this will help us all in some way to come together and work towards larger missions of his which shall be my life's ultimate goals." The statement issued to Singh on Wednesday from Dr Kalam's office read, "Srijan Pal singh who was privately associated with Dr Kalam in his academic pursuits, is giving statements in the media, and also in the social media like Facebook, Twitter, Web etc. We wish to inform the followers of Dr Kalam and the citizens that this office has not authorized Mr Srijan Pal Singh to interact with the media, on or about Dr A P J Abdul Kalam."
