People you meet when you go up are the same ones who will be waiting for you when you come down? Well. If sources close to sources are to be believed, Ranjit Sinha, head of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) may be asked to stay at home. Or as they say in babulese, he may be invited soon to proceed on leave. Or as they say in the corporate world, we are sorry to let you go. Of course, nothing is confirmed much like what happens in New Delhi till everybody knows about it, but it appears that some files have been moving at visible speed with the name of Anil Kumar Sinha, an IPS officer from the Bihar cadre to take over for now. At the time of writing, a little bird has told us that there are video recordings of important people entering and leaving Sinha’s residence. The visitor’s list also includes two senior lawyers. Sounds like a seriously professional job carried out by a spook, if you ask us. In the meantime people in the CBI were heard humming the caller-tune of Sinha’s mobile phone – something about falling in love. In addition, many people who were treated with disdain by Sinha are all reportedly sharpening their pencils. We wonder why?Familiarity Breeds ContemptSo that’s what it is made out to be – a tale of two sisters. The sparring between the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the CBI beyond professional limits has literally gone home. Ranjit Sinha’s close family member is married to a senior official of the IB. The former thinks that the latter has a hand in leaking the visitors’ book with all entries to the media. Now that sounds like some sort of revenge. For what we wonder? And the other breaking news is that a lunch organized by the Ladies Association of the CBI for Sunday has been cancelled because of the other diary entry controversy. We think it’s because nobody wants to be seen at a CBI event, especially in these days of selfies.
