Indian batsman Shikhar Dhawan scored his third century in World Cup competition against Australia on Sunday.
After a cautious start, Shikhar compiled a fine century to lead India to an imposing score of 352 against Australia.
The century continued the opener's excellent form in ICC tournaments having previously starred in the 2015 Cricket World Cup and the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017 and 2013. He ended up as the highest run-scorer in the two Champions Trophy tournaments scoring 363 runs in 2013 and 338 runs in 2017.
It was also the 27th World Cup century by an Indian batsman, the most by any team ahead of Australia (26) and Sri Lanka (24).
He was also India's highest run-scorer in the 2015 Cricket World Cup in Australia with 412 runs. He scored two centuries in the tournament with a highest of 137 against Sri Lanka.
Only Sachin Tendulkar (6) and Sourav Ganguly (4) have more centuries in World Cup matches for India while Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara and Australia's Ricky Ponting have scored five centuries each.
In all, he has scored 1,238 runs in 20 ICC tournament matches at an average of 65.15. He also has a great record batting at The Oval where he has scored 443 runs in 5 innings including three hundreds and a fifty. India has also won 4 out of the five ICC tournament matches where he has scored a century.
With his 117 against Australia on Sunday, Shikhar has put India in a commanding position to win the group match. It remains to be seen if the bowlers can defend the formidable total of 352 put on the board by India.
