Rahul Shivshankar quits NewsX, sources say he will replace Arnab at Times Now

Written by : TNM Staff

Three weeks after Times Now’s former editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami quit from his top position, TNM has learned that NewsX editor-in-chief Rahul Shivshankar has quit, triggering speculation that he will replace Goswami.

Sources in NewsX confirmed that Rahul has resigned, however he has not responded to our queries.

Meanwhile, a source in Times Now said that Rahul Shivshankar would be joining the channel on December 15 as its Editor-in-Chief.

Rahul has worked under Arnab Goswami in the past and was a part of the senior editorial at Times Now before he quit.

Rahul has close to two decades of experience in journalism. He was a part of the launch team of Headlines Today in 2003. Since then, he has worked with Times Now, India Today and NewsX.

In 2013, he joined NewsX as the managing editor, which was his second stint with the channel. In August 2014, he was made the editor-in-chief of the channel.

On November 1, after several days of murmurs that the prime time star of Indian English TV news could be looking at a change, Arnab Goswami resigned from Times Now.

Since his resignation, a churn is being expected in the English TV news sector, with several employees of Times Now quitting, and former employees expected to return.
