India woke up to the news of a terror attack in Punjab on Monday morning.  In a suspected Fidayeen attack, terrorists in army uniforms resorted to indiscriminate firing in Punjab's Dinanagar town.What we knowReports say that seven people including three civilians and four policemen have been killed by terrorists in the attack which had gone on for close to ten hours. Four terrorists have been killed by the forces.  Home ministry officials are set to meet with NSA chief Ajit Doval at 6 p.m. on Monday to discuss the situation. One terrorist had earlier been gunned down by forces. More than three terrorists were holed up inside the police station, and they have been killed. The attack first started with the terrorists firing at civilians near the Dinanagar bus stand. They then attacked the Dinanagar police station and the situation is still panning out with the terrorist holed up inside the police station.Initial reports suggested that there was a hostage crisis inside the station. That has now been denied by the Punjab CM's office and the army.Five live bombs have been recovered near a bridge on the railway track on the Amritsar-Pathankot section on Monday. Home Minister Rajnath Singh has spoken to Punjab Chief Minsiter Parkash Singh Badal, DGP BSF and others and has called for a high level meeting at 10:30 am.What we don't knowThe terrorists were inside a car, but it is not known whether the car was hijacked or stolen. A dead body suspected to be that of the car driver/owner has been recovered.
