PM interrupted with ‘Narendra Modi Murdabad’ slogans in Bhimrao Ambedkar University

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s convocation address in Lucknow’s Bhimrao Ambedkar University was prefaced with slogans of “Narendra Modi Murdabad” on Friday.

Media reports say that ‘Narendra Modi Murdabad’ slogans broke out just as the Prime Minister began his address.

A smattering of shouts erupted when the PM began speaking. However, the PM continued to address the officials on the stage after a pause, according to video clippings. The commotion continued for a few minutes while the security personnel struggled to remove the sloganeers from the venue.

According to an India Today report, students were escorted out by security personnel.

During the address, he also spoke about Rohith Vemula’s death, five days after the Dalit scholar committed suicide in NRS Hostel at Hyderabad Central University.
