A new petition on Change.org demanding that Maggi packets be recalled from the Indian market spells more trouble for the food and beverage giant Nestle.Recently, the Food Safety And Drug Administration (FSDA) in Lucknow collected and tested samples of Maggi instant noodles and found the presence of Monosodium Glutamate (MSG), and the metal lead beyond permissible limits.The petition “#RecallMAGGI Noodles from the market! Don't Feed Lead!” has been started by RPS Kohli, a resident of Delhi and is addressed to Nestle’s CEO Paul Bulcke, Nestlé India Ltd, and Minister of Health and Family Welfare JP Nadda.In his petition, Kohli asks Nestle to recall Maggi from the market as it may result in a “scenario of being afflicted with learning difficulties, vomiting, headache, nausea and breathing problems among children and youth”.Many states such as West Bengal, Gujarat, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Maharastra had announced that they too would be conducting tests.To sign the petition on Change.org, click here.
