Tired of unwanted emails in Gmail?
Google's email service has now introduced an option to block specific email addresses for its users.
Though Gmail's filters are usually effective, this option will help users block senders from whom they have been receiving unwanted emails repeatedly. And it is pretty simple. A drop-down menu allows users to select the option of blocking senders.
Amit Chowdhry writes in Forbes that emails that are blocked and end up in spam folders consume stroage space unnecessarily. "What I recommend doing is," he writes, "setting up a filter for those persistent spammers so that their messages goes straight to your Trash. And messages in your Gmail Trash folder for more than 30 days are automatically deleted. To send messages from a specific email address straight to the Trash folder, tap on the check boxes next to their names. And then tap on 'More,' followed by 'Filter messages like these.'"
Gmail in its blog also mentioned that "In addition, the unsubscribe option is now making its way to Android, so you’ll be able to opt out of eligible mailing lists directly from the Gmail app. It’s perfect for those newsletters you subscribed to a while back but don’t read any more."
