The new cool: Tweet after your arrest, AAP MLAs set the trend

Written by : TNM Staff

If you are sick of people flooding your Facebook timeline with their needless posts about their holidays and honeymoons, here is something new that you can look forward to.

And this is something better than “sitting at this coffee shop” or “eating ice-cream at that parlour”.

AAP MLAs have created a new fad, a trend to follow.

In two consecutive ads, two AAP MLAs tweeted about them 'courting' arrests.

On Thursday, former Delhi Law Minister tweeted, “I am in Hauzkhas police station under arrest in gautam nagar kalah.”

Legislator Somnath Bharti was arrested on charges of damaging AIIMS property and misbehaving with its security guards, the police told reporters.

Bharti was arrested from his residence and was taken to the Hauz Khas Police Station and was released on bail later in the day.

Delhi Police had registered an FIR against Bharti and his supporters on September 11 following a complaint by All India Institute of Medical Sciences' (AIIMS) Chief Security Officer R.S. Rawat.

Similarly, on Wednesday, the party’s another legislator Amanatullah Khan tweeted, “Came here at @DCP OFFICE sarita Vihar for general discussion.but they arrested me #DelhiPolice.”

IANS reported Khan was out on bail on Thursday arrested after a sexual harassment complaint by his brother-in-law's wife and was sent to one-day judicial custody.

However, Khan denied the allegation, saying he had "no connection with the woman at all".
