N Srinivasan denies all allegations to SC, says Sharad Pawar's opinion sought

Pressure appears to be gnawing at the feet of sidelined BCCI president, N Srinivasan with demands for more clarity about his role in India’s cricketing world.

Calling all allegations against him false, Srinivasan told the Supreme Court that he acted with speed on hearing about the allegations against his son-in-law, Gurunath Meiyappan, reported NDTV.

He also said that he had been given the go-ahead from fomer BCCI president, Sharad Pawar for bidding on the Chennai Super Kings franchise. He claimed that Pawar told him that since they were a private company, it should not be a problem.

The apex court hearing in the IPL fixing case has been adjourned until December 8.

As the fate over two successful IPL teams hangs in question, when asked if MS Dhoni, captain of the the Chennai Super Kings franchise would be asked to resign, refuted the possibility even though questions of conflict of interest have been raised over the captain’s position.

“Why should I ask him to resign?” Srinivasan said on being asked if Dhoni should step down, reported PTI. 

Dhoni is also the Vice President of India Cements, that owns the CSK team.
