A seven-year-old girl was allegedly gang raped by three men in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district, police said on Monday.

The incident took place Sunday when the girl went to a field to relieve herself. A boy took her to nearby thickets and raped her along with two of his friends, police said.

One of the accused has been arrested and being interrogated while the two others managed to escape and efforts are on to nab them, police told IANS.

Profusely bleeding, the girl was found lying in the field after which her parents informed police. A complaint has been registered and the girl was taken to a nearby government hospital, where her condition continues to be critical.
