Maggi's aggressive comeback? Bombards with ads on leading dailies

Written by : TNM Staff

After clearing the lab tests only on Friday, the instant noodle brand Maggi owned by Food giant Nestle is losing no time to recapture one of its largest markets.

The popular easy-to-make food product was being tested for amounts of lead and MSG (Mono Sodium Glutamate) in excess of the permissible amount after a food inspector in UP suspected the presence of these substances. In the space of the next 12 months, this later snowballed into an almost pan-India ban on Maggi and the matter went to court.

It was on Friday, that the the results came out, of tests conducted by three labs in the country as per the directives of the Bombay High Court.

The instant noodle brand has put out half page ads in all the editions across the country in two of the nation’s leading dailies.

Echoing the statement made by the company on Friday, this ad states, “Your MAGGI is SAFE,”
