Lt Guv of Puducherry Kiran Bedi teaches a lesson or two to lazy bureaucrats

Written by : TNM Staff

Kiran Bedi, Lt Governor of Puducherry, really wants to do some good. And, she’s begun her tenure by cracking a whip on the government. From launching a probe on fake raffle tickets, to an initiative to prevent crimes against women, the retired IPS officer has hit the ground running.

Bedi reportedly sees 40 people on a first come, first served basis daily.

She’s also brought forward the ‘6P concept’– to protect women and children against crimes.

The concept of 6P would bring together six important contributors or pillars – ‘parents or principals, police, prosecution or courts, politicians, prisons and press’- as a collective hub to prevent crimes against the two vulnerable sections.

She has also cleaned up streets, ensured a reliable traffic system and helped remove traffic congestion.

All this in just 2 weeks of her tenure.

But everyone’s not happy. Government officials and staff crib about being asked to report to work as early as 8 am.

Bureaucrats could learn a thing or two from her.
