Kidney trade racket busted in Delhi, 6 arrested

Written by : PTI

Police claimed to have busted a kidney trade racket operating in Delhi following the arrest of six people, including two women.

They were arrested from a prominent private hospital in southeast Delhi on Thursday night, a police officer said.

The police were tipped off about the gang's presence in the hospital, he said.

Three middlemen, who are believed to have sold at least four kidneys in Delhi, were nabbed. Three potential donors, including two women, who were apprehended, are from a village in a neighbouring state, he said.

A case has been registered at the Sarita Vihar police station. The police are probing the gang's reach.
