Karti denies being a shareholder in Ziqitza Healthcare

Karti P Chidambaram, son of former Union minister P Chidambaram, on denied having any role in the management of Ziqitza Health Care Limited, nor done any commercial transactions with the firm.

Congress leader and former union finance minister P. Chidambaram's son Karti P. Chidambaram on Saturday said he was not a shareholder in Ziqitza Healthcare Ltd nor did he get any remuneration from that company.

The FIR filed by the Enforcement Directorate, under sections of money laundering, has the names of former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot, Ravi Krishna, son of former Union minister Vayalar Ravi, and Sachin Pilot.

Questioned about news reports about the case registered against Karti Chidambaram for money laundering in the Rajasthan ambulance scam case, he said: "I have not received any notice from any agency. I came to know about this from news reports."

According to him, he was an independent director in Ziqitza Healthcare till 2012 and the last board meeting of the company he had attended was in 2008. The ambulance service contract in Rajasthan was awarded to Ziqitza Healthcare, which is now under investigation.
