Kanchi seer Sri Jayendra Saraswati hospitalized in Vijayawada, condition stable

Head of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham Sri Sri Jayendra Saraswati Swami was on Tuesday admitted to a private hospital in Vijayawada after he complained of breathing problem.

His condition is stated to be stable now.

The seer has been camping in Vijayawada for the past few days overseeing the 'Chaturmasya Deeksha', a four-month religious ritual.

Deccan Chronicle quoted Andhra Hospital managing director Dr PV Ramana Murthy as saying “The sodium levels should be above 135 in normal conditions, and it will take another 48 hours to restore normal levels of sodium. At this juncture, we can’t disturb the seer.”

The DC report adds that the seer was off the ventilator and the police have cordoned off the hospital as many followers of the seer started flooding the premises.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu spoke to the Peetham people over phone and enquired about the seer's health.

He directed the Krishna district Collector to ensure better medicare to the veteran seer.
