Kalmadi, khel madi, enjoy madi: Twitter reacts to #KalmadiReturns

Written by : TNM Staff

Are you tired of the (unpleasant) shocks 2016 still keeps throwing at you? Well, here's another one. Remember Suresh Kalmadi, the accused in the 2010 Commonwealth games scam? He's now the honorary lifetime president of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA).

The decision was taken at IOA's general body meeting on Tuesday when a member proposed Kalmadi's and former president of the Boxing Federation of India Abhay Singh Chautala's names for the honorary positions. They were endorsed unanimously.

And though Kalmadi and Chautala will not enjoy voting powers, social media exploded with reactions as the news broke. While some posted reactions with the hashtag #KalmadiReturns, others called it the "death of sports".

Take a look at some of the reactions.

The "Khiladi of scams" indeed.

Some demanded that the Supreme Court intervene.

"Acche din"?

KRK as PM... it's a scary thought even though he's being sarcastic.
