In a tragic incident, a 17-year-old girl from Dumka, Jharkhand, committed suicide on Friday after failing to convince her parents to build a toilet at their house.According to a report in The Times of India, the first year BA student at a Dumka college hanged herself, embarrassed by the daily requirement to go out into the fields to relieve herself.“Khushboo would insist we build a toilet inside the house. We built a boundary wall instead,” the teen's mother Sanjhu Devi, reportedly said, adding that “She’d often go to her grandfather's home nearby to relieve herself.”The report mentions that the family owned a pucca four-room house with a courtyard but never considered a toilet as a priority with her father saving money for her marriage instead. Also Read: Exclusive: Not shutting down IIPM brand says Arindam Chaudhuri
