Jet Airways plane skids off runway at Goa's Dabolim airport, few injured

UPDATE: The Dabolim International Airport in Goa that was closed for operations after a flight skidded off the runway early on Tuesday, has been made operational again, a senior DGCA official said.

A Jet Airways flight which was reported to be carrying 161 people on board, skid off the runway at Goa's Dabolim airport in the early hours of Tuesday

The flight was said to be aligning  for take off to Mumbai and 15 passengers were reported to have suffered minor injuries in the incident.

PTI reported that the incident took place at around 5 am when Flight 9W 2374, which had arrived from Dubai and was bound for Mumbai, when the incident occurred.

"Few guests have sustained minor injuries during the evacuation process and medical assistance is being coordinated by the Jet Airways team and the airport authorities," the report quotes the airlines as saying.

The airport, had been closed after the incident, and was scheduled to resume operations in the morning.
