For the first time, a draft law in an Indonesian province seeks to apply the Sharia to non-Muslims. The law concerns the punishment of homosexual sex, AFP reported.

According to the draft law, anal sex between men and the rubbing of body parts between women for stimulation” was punishable by 100 lashes with a cane in Aceh province of Indonesia.

AFP reported that Aceh is the only part of Indonesia in which Sharia laws are enforced. The practice has been in place since 2001 when Aceh was given certain autonomy, following an agreement with the government in Jakarta, which was aimed at quelling a separatist movement.
