A horrifying video of a man throwing a dog from a terrace has surfaced on Facebook and is being widely circulated on WhatsApp.
The dog shakes and whimpers as the man smiles at the camera and holds him by the neck and back. He then drops the dog from a height and the video ends with sound of the dog crying in pain. (we have chosen to not upload the video).
The man's face is clear in the video and he even poses for a while looking into the camera with a smile on his face. The video in slow motion shows the dog being thrown down, from one of the upper floors.
It is however not clear when the video was shot.
The cyber crime cell in Chennai is currently investigating the case. According to Humane Society International, the uploader of the video is from Chennai, but had uploaded it from a WhatsApp forward and is not connected to the perpetrator.
Humane Society International/India is offering a reward of 100,000 Rs to anyone who is willing to volunteer valid information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for throwing a dog from the terrace.
