The hope with which I was looking at him is over: Anna Hazare on Arvind Kejriwal

Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare expressed his disappointment over his self-professed follower Arvind Kejriwal on Monday. He said he was very saddened to see Kejriwal’s party men go to jail while some indulge in corruption, in an interview to a TV channel.

"I am very hurt...When he was with me, he wrote a book on gram swaraj...Will we call this gram swaraj? That's why I am very sad. The hope with which I was looking at him is over," PTI quoted Hazare.

This comes in the wake of AAP’s recently sacked minister Sandeep Kumar’s arrest for his alleged involvement in a sex tape and other charges including rape.

Hazare added that he had previously told the Delhi CM, "You are going to roam the world after launching your party. You will hold rallies in the country for the same, but how will you find out that the people who join your party have a good character or not?”

"He (Kejriwal) did not have an answer for that. I can experience it today. I had said this earlier also, be it any party or leader, it is necessary to check if the people who join a party have a clean character or not."

Apart from Sandeep Kumar, three other AAP party members have been stripped off from their ministerial/ party position over allegations of corruptions or other wrongdoing.
