Filmmakers Wylie Overstreet and Alex Gorosh, along with a group of friends built, in what is touted to be a first, seven-mile scale model of the solar system with complete planetary orbits.

It took 36 hours for the crew to “measure the distances, trace out the orbits and set up a time lapse shot from up on top of a nearby mountain” on a dry lakebed in Nevada. And the result according to the video's description is a "true illustration of our place in the universe."

According to Cnet, the makers used “a conversion of 1 AU (astronomical unit -- or the approximate mean distance from the center of the sun to the center of the Earth) to 579 feet (or 176 meters)”.
