Government offices in New Delhi could soon be using Gaunyle to clean their floors, instead of using the more common floor cleaner Phenyl. 

Kendriya Bhandar cooperative's stores, that among other items supply housekeeping products to central government offices, are at present working on deal with an NGO to provide Gaunyle, states a report by The Economic Times. 

Gaunyle, as the name suggests, is made from cow urine; it also contains neem and fragrance. Both neem and cow urine are said to have "anti-microbial and antifungal" properties. Gaunyle is considered natural and more safer than synthetic cleaning products.

According to the report, 'the trade will generate income for the gaushalas that house cows, regarded as sacred animals by Hindus, translating into better care and comfort for them.'

The Holy Cow Foundation, the NGO that will supply the products, is yet to give a final proposal to Kendriya Bhandar after which the deal is likely to be sealed. The NGO claims that Gaunyle will help "save cows and serve the nation". The products will be sourced from Mathura. 

The Holy Cow Foundation supplies a number of products under the Body Care, Wellness and Devotional category.
