Goats sell quick on OLX and Quikr ahead of Bakri-Eid

Written by : TNM

With one week left for Bakri-Eid, the demand for goats has shot up and traders are setting a new trend by advertising their goats online - on OLX!

E-tailing websites are flooded with submissions of goats for sale, even ensuring home delivery and reasonable prices per goat.

According to a BGR report, the goats cost between Rs 5,000 and Rs 40,000 on OLX depending on size and breed while advertisements on Quikr start from Rs 10,000 and above.

Pictures of the goats are also available for reference before buying.

However, on the downside, this has reportedly resulted in a slump in the market.

"We do not expect descent sale of goat on Eid this year," a goat seller told Hindustan Times.

Secretary of Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid of Ludhiana Mohammad Mustaqeem also told the newspaper that the average cost of goats in the market during Eid is Rs 10,000 but they can be found online for cheaper.
