A report by al-Arabiya news, says ISIS kingpin Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi may have been injured by a US-led air-strike on a convoy of senior members from the ISIS.

According to the same report, the air-strike conducted by the US-led coalition fighting against the ISIS in Iraq destroyed 10 armoured vehicles near the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, but it does not confirm the presence of al-Baghdadi at the time of the strike. The target was set as the location was categorized as the gathering of top ISIS leaders.

The Independent reported that the air-strike has confirmed the death of Abdul-Rahman al-Athaee who is one of the al-Baghdadi’s key advisers and would regularly travel with the self-anointed al-Baghdadi. The report also quoted a local tribal as saying that al-Baghdadi was critically injured in the attacks.

The self-proclaimed caliphate of the ISIS would rarely make appearances and was seen at a Mosque in July where he asked all the Muslims of that region to form allegiance with him.  

The US government had set a $10 million dollar bounty on al-Baghdadi.
