It was a close shave for passengers on board an Emirates flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Dubai, which crash landed at the Dubai International Airport on Wednesday. Six people were injured following the accident.

All 282 passengers and crew members were safely evacuated following the landing. An eyewitness video shows a sudden explosion followed by a ball of fire on board the aircraft after landing. 

Another video shows a fire on-board the aircraft. Reports suggest that the aircraft’s engine caught fire while making the landing.  The fire has since been brought under control, say passengers.

Flight Alerts tweeted that video showed a part of the aircraft’s engine had parted with the plane.

Amateur video at the airport also shows huge plumes of black smoke emanating from the aircraft that made a “belly landing”.
