The Delhi High Court on Friday rejected Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kumar Vishwas’ appeal for a stay on the summons issued to him by Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) regarding the allegation against him by a female volunteer of the party.The appeal was filed by him after the AAP volunteer complained to the DCW saying that the leader was not responding to her requests to clarify the allegations of an illicit affair between them and this was threatening her marriage.In his appeal, Vishwas questioned the High Court regarding the authority of the DCW to issue such summons and also urged the woman to refrain from making public statements according to a CNN-IBN report.The Commission had first asked Vishwas, his wife and two others to appear before it on May 4, where they failed to appear and thus were summoned again on May 6.The complainant said that she had worked along with Vishwas during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. However, she later read reports that his wife had caught him red-handed with one of the volunteers in Amethi, and was later surprised to find her pictures on Facebook and WhatsApp as the woman he was having the illegitimate relationship with.She further stated in an interview that Vishwas had allegedly threatened her to keep silent or she would be killed like Santosh Koli, who was to contest Delhi Assembly polls but was killed in a road accident in 2013. He also accused DCW’s chairperson Barkha Shukla of being biased and working under some political vendetta against him, the report said.The Delhi government has issued a show cause notice to Shukla asking why she shouldn't be sacked from her post.
