Delhi accident victim bleeds to death as passersby ignore him, steal his phone

A 40-year-old man was left to bleed to death on the street after he was hit by a tempo in Delhi’s Subhash Nagar.

According to reports, the man was native to West Bengal and held jobs as a security guard and an e-rickshaw driver in the capital.

After he was hit by the tempo, the man lay bleeding on the side of the road for nearly 90 minutes before police received a report on it and reached the spot to take him to a nearby hospital. At the hospital, he was declared “brought dead”.

CCTV footage shows a wildly careening tempo ram the man from behind. The tempo driver then steps up to examine him, and then gets back into his tempo and leaves without providing help or reporting the matter.

Shockingly, not only did CCTV footage show other passersby ignoring him as he lay injured, but also showed one bystander take away the man’s phone, which was lying near his injured body.

Police said that efforts are on to identify the tempo driver and the bystander who took away the mobile phone.
