Controversial film 'Innocence of Muslims' back on YouTube

Written by : TNM

The controversial anti-Islamic film "Innocence of Muslims", which led to violent protests in the Middle East and also several deaths in 2012, was reposted on YouTube by a user on Tuesday.

According to a report by Associated Press, the move comes a day after a US federal appeals court ruled that YouTube should not have been forced to take the video down, and now the website can remove filters that have been blocking users from posting the clip on its site.

YouTube had earlier been asked to pull down the video from the site on grounds of a copyright claim by actor Cindy Lee Garcia, who appeared in the film, and she claimed that she had been receiving death threats for having appeared in the movie.

Google, which owns YouTube, has declined to comment on the issue, adds the report.
