At least four people were killed and 29 others wounded after a blast hit Pakistan's southwestern city of Quetta Wednesday night, police said.

It was a remote-controlled blast and the bomb was fixed on a motorbike parked outside a food shop on the Prince Road of Quetta, capital city of Balochistan Province, Xinhua reported citing Urdu TV channel ARY.

Bomb disposal squad officers said an estimated four-five kg of explosives were used in the bomb.

The blast, which took place at about 7:40 p.m., also left several nearby buildings and vehicles damaged.

A rescue team rushed to the blast site shortly after the explosion, media reports said.

All the injured have been shifted to a hospital in the city. Hospital sources said the death toll might rise as at least five of the injured people were in critical condition.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
