After a shock exit from the WorldT20, the Indian cricket board's advisory committee has approached Rahul Dravid for the position of head coach.

The Wall is currently the coach for India A and India U 19 squads.

BCCI’s advisory committee is made of former greats Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman.

The Times of India quoted an anonymous source saying, "Rahul has said he will give it a thought.".

TOI reported if Dravid and the board reaches an agreement, it is likely that he will be given liberty to run the show in his own way and awarded a long-term contract till 2019.

Currently, the Indian team till the WorldT20 was managed by veteran Ravi Shastri. Shastri’s tenure as the team director ended with the team’s exit from the tournament.
