Atul Anjan's non-apology for his remark on Sunny Leone's condom ads

Written by : TNM

After drawing flak for his remark that rapes in the country increase due to 'dirty' ads like Sunny Leone's condom ads, CPI leader Atul Anjan has reportedly made an apology.

Only it doesn't quite sound like an apology.

According to a report in The Times of India, Anjan maintained that "Sunny Leone's condom advertisements are vulgar and he would continue to oppose them". Anjan said that while he is not anti-condom, he did not like the language used in advertisement.

‘Apologising’ to supporters of Sunny Leone, Anjan said, "I apologize but I don't stand for such ads". He went on to add that the government should take measures to stop broadcast of these advertisements, adds the report.

While speaking at event recently, Anjan elaborated, wrongly, on Leone's background claiming she is from Australia, when in fact she has roots in Canada. He also said that he watched her porn movie for two-minutes and it made him want to puke.
