Times Now extended a rather unusual courtesy to Telugu Desam party MP Murali Mohan in absentia.

TDP MP Murli Mohan Maganti said in the Lok Sabha on Thursday that women must dress in a dignified manner that behoved “Indian culture”. Obviously, people were furious.

And obviously, the nation wants to know exactly what he meant.

“All right…,” said Arnab Goswami, Editor-in-Chief of Times Now, on The News Hour and continued: “…that empty chair is of Mural Manohar Maganti the Member of Parliament of the TDP who refuses to come on the News Hour. We have a live satellite link at his residence, should he choose to come, he needs to sit there, and explain what he means when he has a direct correlation between atrocities against women and the clothes that they wear. I hope he has the courage to come here and face all of you, but I’m not sure, sometimes these politicians can really be cowards. On the News hour tonight...”

This is what the screen looked like:

The chair remained a guest on the show for around 20 minutes. And Then a new guest was invited from the BJP, to defend the government, but Goswami maintained the sanctity of the chair.

For some inexplicable reason, the chair disppeared a little after the new guest was introduced, and was completely forgotten at the end of the discussion, and no explanation given for the disappearance of Murli Mohan Maganti's unoccupied chair. It is only natural for the nation to want to know what happened to the chair.
