'Aishwarya Rai' starts petition against Salman Khan over his Rio ambassadorship

Written by : TNM Staff

Even as the appointment of Salman Khan as one of the ambassadors representing India at the Rio Olympics 2016 made headlines after certain sporting figures questioned the appointment, an online petition has been started against the appointment and that too by Aishwarya Rai. But don't sweat it, it's not THE Aishwarya Rai.

The petition on Change.org, which is titled 'Ban Salman Khan from being Good Will Ambassador 2016 Rio Olympics,' has only 184 supporters, but it is interesting (and amusing) to note that the name of the petitioner is Aishwarya Rai.

It seems to be just someone who shares her name with the Bollywood actress. The petitioner states that the move is "regressive" and "reflects negatively on India".

She then goes on to claim that Khan had an alleged history of abusing women, hunting endangered species and "cold bloodedly killing innocent people.(sic)"

The petition can be found here.
