After Rajan exit, Subramaniam Swamy’s next target: CEA Arvind Subramanian

Written by : TNM Staff

The controversy surrounding RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan’s exit from the central bank, drawing much criticism against the Modi government, has barely died down, but one-man army Subramaniam Swamy has already declared his next target.

He is now going all out against economist and government’s Chief Economic Adviser, Arvind Subramanian.

Arvind Subramanian was appointed as the CEA by the Modi government in October 2014. He is a development economist and has had important stints in Western and global institutions like the IMF.

Although the criticism that Arvind Subramanian is pro-US is not new, Swamy raked it up vigorously on Twitter on Wednesday morning.

And clearly, Swamy is taking on Arvind with the same ‘nationalist’ argument, by alluding to his US stint.

He also retweeted some tweets criticizing Subramanian.
