You need to be over 21 years of age to buy this ice cream because it has 5% alcohol content.

The wine ice cream made in New York comes in different flavours like chocolate cabernet, red raspberry chardonnay, riesling and cherry merlot.

But those not living in New York need not be sad. The company – Mercer’s – promises to ship over night its new ice cream to any place in the United States, Daily Mail reported.

“At Mercer's, we produce true wine ice cream. This is not just wine-flavored ice cream. It is a 15% butterfat and up to 5% alcohol by volume wine infused ice cream. In fact, the formula is trade-secreted by Mercer's Dairy,” its website read.

The company started experimenting the use of wine in ice cream way back in 2006. The brand had also won the Best New Product award at the The Great American Dessert Expo in 2007. However, it is only now that the company is launching the product on a commercial basis.
