Women and jeans: Yesudas says worry about your children

The News Minute| November 24, 2014| 14.23 pmAfter creating a furore over his controversial comments on women’s attire, singer KJ Yesudas has broken his silence and made an attempt to appease his critics, but not before taking a dig at them.Addressing his ‘well-wishers’ at an award function, he said, “I have a request for those who are worried about my comments; Please be worried about your children not about me.”Read: Singer Yesudas says women wearing jeans forces people to look at other parts of bodyWhile inaugurating a ceremony at a Music College in Thiruvanathapuram on October 1, Yesudas had said, “I am unhappy to see women wearing jeans. If a woman wears jeans we are forced to look at other parts as well and hence, please make sure that you hide all that should be hidden.”Explaining his current situation, he quoted ‘the cat which had fallen into hot water will be scared by seeing even the cold water’ proverb. This was the first time the singer spoke in public after his controversial statement.Incidentally, his daughter-in-law is a costume designer.
