Vijay fan dies during tragic accident while performing "milk abhishekam"

The News Minute | October 23, 2014 | 08:53 am ISTA tragic incident reportedly took place in Palakkad during the celebrations of the latest Vijay flick 'Kaththi when a man reportedly fell down the superstar’s flex while performing 'milk abhishekam'.The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon. Unnikrishnan, 24, was a welding worker according to police. After watching the movie at the Jayabharat Theatre at Vadakkancherry, Unnkrishnan apparently climbed up a huge cutout of the actor to perform 'milk abhishekam', but slipped and fell down. Though he was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, he could not be saved, reports say.Traditionally rituals like 'milk abhishekam' were offered to deities in temples. But in the last few years, a number of fan clubs are seen offering such 'abhishekam’s' on huge flexes of film stars during the release of their movies and other occasions.
