Kerala’s Ezhava outfit SNDP leader Vellapally Natesan on Saturday officially announced the formation of a new political party named "Bharat Dharma Jana Sena party".

The symbol of the party will be joined palms and the white and red coloured party flag was also revealed in the culmination event of Vellappally’s Samathwa Munnetta Yatra in Thiruvananthapuram at Shanghumugham Beach.

There were reports that  the new party will ally with the BJP. For the last few months, the SNDP leadership has been showing an affinity towards the BJP and the outfits even coordinated in several places in the Kerala Civic polls.

Vellapally had earlier said that the new party will be announced when the 13-day Yatra, which was flagged off from Kasargod on November 22, ended in Thiruvananthapuram.

Vellapally has been criticized heavily by political parties for his decision to form a new party and a probable BJP alliance.
