Two more RSS workers arrested for murder of CPI (M) worker in Kannur

Police have arrested two more RSS workers in the murder of CPI (M) worker Mohanan K at Valankichal near Koothuparamba in Kannur on October 10, according to a report by P Sudhakarani in The Times of India.

A total of five RSS workers have been arrested so far.

The police arrested the two from Venduttayi on Tuesday morning and they have been identified as Sayooj (23) and Rahul (22). The two are apparently directly involved in the murder and belong to Pathiriyad in Kannur district.

A few crude bombs and swords used in the murder, were also recovered based on the confessions by the two accused.

Raids have been conducted at various places including Bengaluru, Kasaragod, Mahe and around 120 people have been examined, the report says.

On October 14, police had arrested three RSS workers.

Fifty-year-old Mohanan, a toddy shop worker and Valaankichal CPI (M) Branch Secretary, was hacked to death by a group of unidentified persons.
