Sunday is a 'dry day' norm begins in Kerala

The News Minute | October 5, 2014 | 10.38 am ISTSundays shall be ‘dry days’ from now on in Kerala.According to the new liquor policy of the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) government in Kerala, all Sundays will be dry days. No liquor shops, bars shall remain open in the state. The dry day policy in the state has already included the first day of every month.The move to close down all private bars in the state excepting the five-star ones had been challenged by bar owners in the Kerala High court and later in the Supreme Court, and the final verdict is yet to come.Knowing that liquor will not be available on Sunday, there was a huge crowd in front of bars on Saturday, Asianet news reported.
