Sree Narayana Guru Dharma Paripalana Yogam (SNDP), a socio-political group that represents the backward Ezhava community, one of the most influential communities in Kerala, is planning to form a political party according to media reports.

In recent SNDP meetings, its leaders have raised the need of political involvement as the Ezhava community is of 30% of total population in the state.

Media One reports that in next meeting committee might chose Tushar Vellappally, present SNDP Secretary Vellappally Nadeshan’s son, as next Secretary of the organization.

Nadeshan told media that and urgent meeting will be held in next 10 days by SNDP office bearers to decide on whether to enter politics.

Before that Tushar will reportedly go on a Kerala yathra from Kasaragod district to Thiruvananthapuran and reports presume that it may be a precursor for SNDP’s political entry.
