Written by : TNM Staff

Chintha Jerome, Vice President of the Student Federation of India, the Left’s student organization, has found herself in the midst of a social media storm after her comment on the RSS in an Independence Day speech.

RSS cadres and supporters have taken offense to Jerome’s comment that as far as she knows only two sections of people wear shorts- nursery students and RSS cadres.

Speech audio :

Jerome has been trolled and criticized massively for her comments, and also received a few threats.

‘Kaavipada’ an RSS sympathiser Facebook page was one of the first to take on the SFI leader.

“The time when she will regret what she said is not too far away.  Jai Sri Ram,” Kavippada posted.

The message, seen as a threat, was taken up by Left leaders on social media sites, leading to a bashing session between supporters.
