Sex scandal accused found hiding in former Congress MLA's quarters in Kerala

The News Minute| July 25, 2014| 5.00 pm ISTAn accused in the Kochi sex scandal case who has been on the run was arrested by the Kerala police on Thursday, from Kerala MLA hostel (a government accommodation for MLAs). The accused Jayachandran, was staying in former Congress MLA Sarath Chandra  Prasad's room in the hostel. Jayachandran along with four others were accused of recording sexual acts of people and blackmailing them.As per rules, the hostel can rent out rooms to former MLAs. Former MLA Sarath Chandra Prasad claimed that he did know the accused, but did not know how the accused landed up in his room.The raid in the hostel was a secret mission carried out by the Kerala police, after securing permission from the Assembly Speaker G Karthikeyan. The speaker has now said that the anomalies in running of MLA hostels will be looked into.
