RSS Manoj murder: Kerala HC asks CBI to produce evidence against CPM's Jayarajan

Written by : TNM Staff

The Kerala high court on Wednesday asked CBI to produce the case diary in RSS leader Kathiroor Manoj murder case and mark the portions with proof of Kannur CPI (M) district secretary P Jayarajan’s involvement in the case.

A division bench comprising justices KT Sankaran and KP Jyothindranath was considering the bail application plea of P Jayarajan.

In a counter affidavit filed against the bail plea, the CBI said that Jayarajan was the mastermind in the murder case.

“The attempt of Jayarajan is only to obstruct the agency from conducting a very important stage of investigation related to the phase of arrest and interrogation,” CBI submitted in the court, The New Indian Express reports.

CBI also added that law prohibits giving bail to the accused who is charged under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, or UAPA.
