Pulimurugan: Mohanlal has a new admirer in Kozhikode collector Prasanth

Even as Mammootty-Mohanlal fans lock horns with their films having released on the same day after a gap of 15 years, the “complete actor” appears to have a new admirer.

After watching Mohanlal’s “Pulimurugan” that hit the theatres on Friday, Kozhikode district collector N Prasanth took to Facebook to describe how the film was the comeback of his childhood action hero.

“On watching Pulimurugan, I felt the same thrill that I experienced in my childhood after watching films such as Moonnam mura and Adhipan,” he wrote.

The 1986 film “Moonnam Mura” saw Mohanlal playing the role of an underworld don.

Borrowing from Tamil actor Vikram’s popular dialogue from the film “I”, Prasanth said that the thrill he experienced was even greater than ever (athukkum mele).

The collector begins his status update by saying how he thought the film was overrated when he heard about the making of the film from Mohanlal himself.

“I felt what could possibly impress an audience who have watched big budget films like Magadheera and Baahubali. I watched the film today and I must say, Lalettan was 100% accurate when he spoke about the making of the film. This film is an example of how CG work can lift the quality of a film meant for the mass audience,” he wrote.

Prasanth goes on to commend director Vysakh and cinematographer Shaji Kumar for their work. He does not forget to mention “kutty Mohanlal”, the 8-year-old child artist who portrays Mohanlal’s childhood character.

Concluding his Facebook post, “If this film does not become a super duper hit…” the collector suggests he doesn’t know what will.
