With less than 24 hours to go for the swearing in of the new LDF government, preparations are on in full swing in Thiruvananthapuram.

CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Pinarayi Vijayan will be sworn in as chief minister along with a 19-member cabinet in a ceremony to be held at the Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram at 4pm on Wednesday.

According to reports, seating arrangements to seat 2,500 people have been put in place and close to 50,000 others can view the event. Eight CCTVs will be installed in the stadium along with 4 LED screens outside the stadium.

In 2006, the swearing-in ceremony of the LDF government headed by VS Achuthananthan was also held in the central stadium. However, the 2011 UDF government held its swearing-in ceremony in a specially made shamiana on Raj Bhavan grounds.
