Popular filmmaker Major Ravi denies saying he made patriotic movies to teach some Muslims.

It was reported that while speaking at the World Hindu Congress held at Delhi last week, Major Ravi who is famous for his movies on the Indian army and Rajiv Gandhi assassination, had remarked that he had taken these movies to teach Muslims in certain parts of Kerala what patriotism was all about.The film maker has rejected all the allegations about him in a Facebook post.“People believe a post done by a media which was misinterpreted by someone to make news. Please don’t forget my films where I said, the Muslims of India don't want to be called as Indian Muslims, but Indians. I never showed castism, but patriotism by all Indians in films. I told the people that even in Kargil, how Muslim battalion, did a crucial battle to capture a mountain at the final stage. Because, it was my duty to highlight the truth and culture of our country to show to the public, so that we don’t hate each other” he said in the post.Noted film makers like Kamal and B Unnikrishnan had criticized Ravi for his alleged comments. On Thursday director Kamal had said that Ravi should apologize to his audience for dragging communalism into art. Kamal has also said that Ravi is no more eligible for the Major rank.“Communalizing art is the worst tragedy that can happen ever” said B Unnikrishnan in his Facebook post.According to the reports Ravi also allegedly said in the speech that his forth coming movies will be based on Hindutwa ideology and hereafter it will be easy for him since BJP was in power.
